POKER

Applied photography/film photography/ photo performance Deck of poker cards 65x100mm 2017. "Poker" is the name of the artwork, a poker card deck which consists of 52 self-portraits. The photographs were taken with analog photo cameras, developed in the darkroom and then scanned and printed in decks. The edition consists of 93 decks, and each of them is on its box numbered and signed. Poker is an inspiration for a series of applied photographs because the nature of this card game itself is wealthy with the metaphorical stratification of interpersonal relationships. All the photos in the series are self-portraits, and in this way, a deck of cards is a kind of a self-portrait intended for interaction with the audience. Each card has a certain value, as well as each of the human traits, which in certain combinations can be gainful or worthless. There are more winning combinations in poker, and it is essential that you get the most powerful one. The self-portrait is in the form of a deck of cards, where I put myself "on the table", in the hands of others. It is questionable which combination players will get. It is a woman in the hands of others, she is divided and maintained, and based on her values the players invest. Each has its value depending on the other cards you have received as well as on other players cards. For each person, we have a certain value based on our characteristics, personality, skills ... Poker, as well as life, is where you get nothing if you don't risk. This artwork invites visitors to take cards, flick through them, browse them, play the game they want ... "Poker" as a work of applied art requires interaction with the audience, watching artwork that becomes more intimate and closer to the audience, not far behind the glass.
