Video performance (00:07:55), 2019. What is under the image we are representing us to others? In this video performance, I am dressed in a white male button-up shirt, a clothing item that reminds me of Azerbaijani man. Something that, as a foreigner, I would say that is typical here as a man's everyday look. In video performance I start to clean myself over the shirt with a sponge and water and by doing that white shirt becomes dirty and muddy. With more cleaning shirt is dirtier and with putting an effort to clean it never gets to its previous state. When we get deeper into something we can't get to back the way we were before. The object part of the installation is a wooden table with soil and seeds. Seeds are growing through a period of an exhibition and at some point, they are going to dry. Work all together can be seen as a representation of 'proper' family, lifestyle burden that a lot of people carry.
