WISH

MIXED MEDIA (eyelashes of the author, capsules, wooden box) 25x19x5cm 2017. Work 'Wish' is inspired by the difference between the children and grownups worlds. Practice or legend in the children world is that when your eyelash falls out you put it between your thumb and forefinger, think of one wish while you blow on it and choose one of these two fingers. Then you open them. If the eyelash stayed on the finger you choose your wish will come true. The grownup world is a little different. When we have a problem with something or we want something we take pills, we expect instant solutions because we live in an instant world. World of instant soups, pills for losing weight and concentration. These two worlds are combined into one. I collected my eyelashes when they have fallen out and then I placed them into seethrough capsules. I made instant children wishes for us who are not children anymore. The work is made with 20 capsules, in every capsule there is one eyelash/wish. Everything is placed in a wooden box with silk lining.
